Everyday working life with Technology in Coop

At Coop Norge, we invest in our people, aiming to develop outstanding employees and an organization that meets future needs. We go to great lengths to ensure your growth and well-being at work.

The workday at Coop is characterized by a high degree of autonomy, allowing you and your team to decide how to approach problem-solving. Employees not only have a say in methods but also influence the choice of technologies and tools they use. Coop has a technology-agnostic approach, aiming to use the most suitable technologies and tools for a certain task.

As previously mentioned, Coop strives to leverage new knowledge and technology. As a result, all employees are allocated 60 hours per year for upskilling, development, and learning. The employee largely decides how to use these hours. They can for example take some courses in “Coop Skolen” (Coop's internal learning platform), attend external courses or conferences, or pursue certifications – it's up to you!

Collaboration & co-creation

The entire set-up for Digitalisation and Technology in Coop consists of over 200 people, from project managers, product- and system owners to developers, designers and architects. The real magic happens when all these great minds collaborate and co-create. We believe that our ability to share and collaborate in an agile way, will define our ability to create the shopping experience of the future. This is also exactly why we regularly arrange tech.pres and tech.demo. Through a common learning culture, we stimulate collaboration and strengthen our community.

Depending on your role, you will be part of a team of varying sizes. This team will be your primary collaboration group, but not exclusively. Coop places a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and collaboration across departments, both within the area of digital and technology, and with other parts of the central organization.

Work setup

At Coop Norge SA, we have a hybrid work setup. It's largely up to the team you are part of to determine the type of setup that works best for you, but generally, we are in the office about three days a week, with flexibility on the remaining two days.

If you need to be away for an extended period of time (for example to visit family abroad), we also accommodate such situations. In general, we have a flexible approach to both working hours and locations.
